Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2015
Slovenia / Section Countries and Regions

Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) is a unique international event that explores the field of set design, costume design and theater architecture, at the same time presenting a relevant platform for the introduction of a variety of theatre design practices in a large part of the world theater production. In addressing artistic and curatorial practices the PQ crosses the boundaries between architecture, performing arts and visual arts.

The thirteenth edition of the PQ was held 18-28 June 2015, the artistic concept of the event followed a few thematic circles (SharedSpace: Music - Weather - Politics), highlighting markedly a multiplicity of venues where installations and visual sets stepped to the forefront.

The concept of gallery installation entitled Expanded space vs. Compressed space stems from authorial contributions of the artists Meta Grgurevič in colaboration with JAŠA (a set design in the ballet performance Tristan and Isolde, Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, 2014) and Ana Savić Gecan (costume design in the performance Storm Still, Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana and the Slovenian Repertory Theatre, Trieste, 2013). The national selector was Barbara Novakovič Kolenc who curated Slovenian participation in the central Countries and Regions section of the PQ 2015. (...)
