Muzeum in anticipation of the opening nights of two new performances and the focus on art and science

Institute Muzeum is in anticipation of the opening nights of two theatre performances: performance The Room without an Echo, directed by Miha Erman, who is also the author of the concept, will be performed for the first time on October 27., and theatre dance performance Julie, choreographed by Sanja Nešković Peršin, also the author of the concept, on November 6.

Erman's performance is a part of international platform Focus on Art and Science in the Performing Arts.

Theatre dance performance Julie, directed and choreographed by Sanja Nešković Peršin, is based on play Miss Julie by August Strindberg. The artist will interpret it through words and movements.

Performance The Room without an Echo, featuring Bor Pungerčič and Primož Bezjak, is the result of Erman's residence in Italy. At today's presentation for press, he described it as very existential and intimate. The starting point for it was his experience of an anechoic chamber, and the media combined in the performance are a body, sound and film.

The Room without an Echo is a part of the platform of international European project Focus on Art and Science in the Performing Arts. The distinctively young platform was mostly initiated by Italian partners and it comprises of artists that are no older than 27 years. Erman's work is one of 12 projects, chosen from 165 applied projects, said Barbara Novakovič Kolenc, the director of Muzeum.

In addition to his performance it will be also possible to see three more performances form the before mentioned Focus in Ljubljana between October 21. and 28. As the first one artistic duo Portage (Enrico Gaido and Alessandra Lapano) from Turin will introduce themselves with performance and video installation Il Tetto/Adamo's Home Project on October 21. in the atrium of ZRC SAZU. The project is based on the legacy of the films by Italian director Vittorio De Sica and American producer and director King Vidor.

It will be followed by performance Per Vedere by young choreographer and contemporary dancer Luisa Cortesi from Florence. According to Barbara Novakovič Kolenc, her performance is distinctively visual. The fabric that the artist wears has flowers painted on it and changes with movements. It will be performed on October 24. in cultural centre Tobačna 001 in Tobačna City.

As the last one experimental group Collettivo Cinetico from Ferrara will make a guest appearance with performance XD on October 28. in cultural centre Spanish Fighters. A few days before their performance, the group will carry out a workshop on contemporary dance techniques and present their research of the preformatting of theatrical events. As Barbara Novakovič Kolenc explained, the group was in residence in Ljubljana in April, where they mostly researched intermediateness and time, or the question how much time can shorten and stretch.
