EXCERPTS

Radio Študent, Jedert Jež
This is the spectalce that braks down all concepts of ciriticism. With the tenderness and lyricism of fairy-tales and myths, with the derision of history, it pervades the heartly fluid which still carries the echoes od all our lives and stories. Lo Scrittore is a beautiful show.

Večer, Lojze Smasek
The performance is filled with original ideas and suggestive movements, and the staging is effectively supported by music and sounds, and scenic inventions... Thus, Lo Scrittore is a theatrically mature and presentationally attractive work.

Radio Slovenija, Jasna Škrinjar
It is impossible to describe in words the special ambience created yesterday evening on the stage of the National Drama Theatre in Ljubljana.

Delo, Ženja Leiler
With its prioduction Lo Scrittore, The Muzeum theatre continues its journey into an utmost intimate and highly aestetic theatre poetry (...)

Dnevnik, Petra Pogorevc
The fascinating stage pictures which address us not with spoken words, but with the carefully construed movements, gestures and mimicry of the performers... Barbara Novakovič created a singular and sensitive spectacle which at no time slips into complacency or pretentiousness, but skilfully and persistently builds on the outlined contours of author's discernible stage poetics. Utmost fascinating, in short and amazingly pleasing.

Republika, Karla Železnik
A spectacle that functions without words, and thus identifies even more with a written word; a spectacle which is calm, which is being born, and lives, accomplishes itself in the mind of the writer, reminds of the open book, while the female figures remind of enliven characters from books.

Tribuna, Jedrt Jež
After Neo - and Avant - garde strivings in the 80's and 90's and the antecedent political "cleansing" of theatre spectators fed up with the restrictions of dictated, confining looks and spasmodic postures and chilly spaces as a reflection of the state of general spirit - finally something completely different. If the political theatre suited the 70's, Muzeum reflectes the current intimate, contemplative explorations...
No, there is nothing obscure, or dreadful - the resonance of air particles witnesses another kind of attitude. More precisely, one experiences the scent of sensation - of feeling, and thus of ambience experiences the scent of sensation - of feeling, and thus of ambience itself. And this is what both productions by Barbara Novakovič are all about…
The spectacles offer multilayered/multinotional reading, but I never could - nor wanted to - escape the prime enthusiasm and append the second aspect of the picture. This is left to your imagination, and I do hope you will let yourself be carried away, and allow the spectacle to enchant you.
