Petra Veber
Petra Veber (born in 1971) has graduated at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Architecture. Since 1993 she has worked as a set designer. In 1997 together with theatre director Sebastijan Horvat and Nataša Matjašec she co-founded of the E.P.I. Center, an independent theatre institute. In 2004 she was a hosting professor at the Ohio State University (USA).
Petra Veber is a member of the Designers Society of Slovenia (DOS) since 1999.
She conceived set design for more than ninety theatre performances in Slovenia and abroad (Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, USA, Montenegro, Belgium, Austria).
Exhibitions: Biennial in Lisbon (1994); Bad Radgesburg (1998); Quadriennial in Prague (1999); Maribor Theatre Festival (2003).
Solo exhibitions: Space and Time at Ljubljana Castle (2009); exhibition of the Designers Society of Slovenia (2010). She participated in the group exhibition of Slovenian costume and set designers entitled "Who is afraid of religious Plečnik?" in National Theatre Museum of Slovenia (2010).
Awards: Grand prix to creators of the performance ION at the 29th Week of Slovenian Drama in Kranj (1999); Borštnik Award for the performance Romantic Souls, Maribor 2007; Borštnik Award for the performance Turncoats / Students and Teachers; Rudi Šeligo Award for the performance Romantic Souls (2008). In the year 2011 she has won the Golden Bird Award for her achievements in scenography.
In some performances she has been also an author of the concept, light design, cosume design, dramaturg and/or publication designer and photographer.
